Stirring Up Hope with EDWINS Restaurant
The First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland and EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute have teamed up to bring warmth and nourishment to Clevelanders in need through a collaborative ministry called Stirring Up Hope.
In its first year, the ministry served 25,000 meals across its partner sites. This year, we aim to serve even more.
Each week throughout the year, EDWINS chefs will prepare large kettles of soups and stews that will be delivered to partner sites across the city.
The premise of this partnership is simple: every Wednesday, starting at 11 a.m., our nonprofit partner organizations will serve EDWINS-crafted artisan soup straight from the kettle to anyone who desires a simple, healthy meal - no questions asked.
Stirring Up Hope is presented at a time when nearly 30% of Cleveland residents face food insecurity, which is more than double the national average, and one in four children face food insecurity (Cleveland Health Survey).
